POLYPROPYLENE ROPES

Polypropylene ropes have a long-standing tradition outdoors, starting with the sailing industry, which has created small- to large-diameter ropes for the most diverse uses. The use of polypropylene ensures colourfast ropes that are resistant to both water and harsh weather. If the material of ropes calls to mind a cold, shiny item with a waxy feel, however, quite the opposite sensation is generated with the weaving in the Timeout Collection. Polyester texturising, known as ‘taslanising’, endows the fibre with an extremely soft matt finish cotton texture that feels like natural yarn.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR POLYPROPYLENE ROPES

Cleaning should be done preferably under cloudy skies or in the shade. Ensure that the furniture is cool before starting. Do not use abrasive sponges, steel brushes, or abrasive/caustic cleansers. Do not use steam cleaners or pressure washers. Always try to remove food residue or spilled drinks, fallen leaves, berries, flowers, and bird droppings as soon as possible to prevent stains and module.

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.
