MAINTENANCE OF WOOD

For ordinary maintenance purposes, use a soft and dry cloth to remove dust. For greasy-oily dirt (fingerprints), we suggest treating the surfaces using alcohol diluted in water, and immediately drying it with a soft cloth. It is best to avoid products containing acetone, chlorine and solvents, abrasive products, furniture wax and cloths with rigid fibres (linen and synthetic materials), which may ruin and/or scratch the surfaces. All these operations must be carried out with the utmost attention, and without applying excessive force. Exposure to direct sunlight may damage the colour of the wood.

MAINTENANCE OF MARBLE

As regards normal maintenance, dust and dry residues, use a soft cloth. For stubborn dry dirt (dust which has penetrated into the porosity of the granite) it is advisable to use a close-knitted or a spongy cloth, slightly dampened with warm water and well wrung out. Clean by following the vein of the surface without applying too much pressure. As for both greasy and oily marks (fingerprints) it is recommended to treat the surfaces with a small sponge dampened with water and washing-up liquid. Afterwards go over the surfaces once again as described above. Products which contain solvents and/or methylated spirits as well as cloths with rigid fibres (linen and synthetic fibres) are to be avoided as these may ruin the varnish. Given the kind of treatment it is important to immediately remove stains following the above described procedures.

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.

Hugo Coffee | Table

Hugo is a complement, a collection of versatile and contemporary accessories, but with firm roots in tradition.

It is distinguished by severe proportions and classic quotations, by the tactile value of wood. But such memories are ruffled by a contemporary breeze that brings an air of simplicity and the tension of “Less is more”.

Hugo is a multi-purpose occasional table destined to complete seating systems and to facilitate more dynamic and functional compositions. Rectangular or square, it consists of two tops with bevelled edges, achieved by a particular cabinet-making process, separated by two support plinths. The structure is all made of Eucalyptus and Graphite Oak, with the option of Oriental Grey or Dark Emperador marble on the upper top.
